Beach Life Workshop
​Thursday 15th October 2020 :  7-9pm (BST)

* Refresh your creativity and explore your imagination in this relaxed, supportive class

* Produce your own authentic abstract art based on beach life using paint and collage
​

* ​Explore paint, squash-print and stamp techniques using found objects like leaves, bubblewrap, wool, feathers...

* Suitable for all levels 

Learn multiple techniques to create a variety of textures and produce your own piece of art that reflects your feelings and unique recollection of Life at the Beach. In this workshop I will guide you step-by-step to make your own authentic abstract art. Renew your creativity and learn to see the world differently. You will need paint, paper, magazines, scissors, glue and a variety of household objects.

2 hour evening workshop online

Beach Life is a 2 hour evening workshop online to help you develop the skills to create mixed media collage using paint and craft materials. We will spend the first half of the evening exploring and practicing a range of techniques. We will then use these skills to create our own piece of abstract art. We'll share inspiration and you'll receive personal feedback and tips.

​Materials you'll need: 
  • A photo or picture of a beach - anything that appeals to you (we’re using it for inspiration)
  • Selection of magazines and coloured and textured papers
  • Paper and pen to make notes
  • Plenty of paper to work on. Wallpaper lining paper is good, or sugar paper, watercolour paper, mixed media paper etc. A3 is a good size, but you could work bigger on A2 or slightly smaller on A4.
  • Pencil for sketching (any)
  • Paint – water based eg acrylic, gouache or ready mix paint.
  • Brushes -  large, small, hard and soft - a pack of children’s brushes is ideal.
  • Water pot
  • Plastic tray or paper plates to use as a palette
  • Freezer bag or plastic bag
  • Cling film or greaseproof paper
  • Kitchen towels
  • A drinking straw
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick eg Pritt stick
  • Craft materials – gather anything that catches your eye that might make an interesting shape or pattern when printed eg bubblewrap, string, feathers, Lego, leaves, erasers, fabric, lace etc.
