Oculus Rift divides the world In visual fantasy, Slip on the headset, hide away, Escape your cries and fears. Choose your prison carefully: Drink or drugs or sex, Or slip into a headset Made for total ecstasy. Skip the chance of paradise To choose an earthly hell, Creating crime and zones of fear, In teams or on your own. So what’s the point of fantasy? To choose a worse reality? To fill the crevice of our mind: Our insecurities. What creatures we who cannot live The life that we create? Fractured souls devoid of light Will not participate. We hide our heads, our thoughts and love In fear and doubt and pain, Waiting for the day when we Will see the light again. N Greenham |
